rpr & associates: debbie kasper, comedian,
character-actress, writer

background: Debbie Kasper is a two-time Emmy nominated writer who took the entertainment industry and audiences by storm with her one-woman show masterpiece, Without Me, My Show Is Nothing, her contributions as staff writer for ABC’s sitcom Roseanne and the Rosie O’Donnell Show and her riotous stand-up comedy featuring a variety of character impersonations.

challenge: Despite its success, Debbie believed an edgy, well-produced show like Without Me, My Show Is Nothing should be generating more attention and interest from entertainment cable network executives. In order to get the attention it deserved, the show needed to be redeveloped and reintroduced by placing Debbie in front of her targeted audience.

solution: Within a three-months, a venue was selected, catering secured, invitations designed and distributed, and phone calls made to an elite list of network executives, celebrities, and local media to ensure attendance. Directed by Chris Barnes (best known for his work with National Lampoon, Saturday Night Live, Carol Burnett, Comedy Central and Seinfeld), Debbie’s revamped comedy show launched flawlessly with a two-night performance, including a special reception on opening night that drew the who’s who of Hollywood. Rave reviews followed in L.A. Weekly and Dramalogue – L.A., as did a special invitation by HBO Workspace to perform two additional nights for HBO network executives and their guests.
