Ella Patterson, who lived a true ‘rags to riches- story, drew on her personal experiences to inspire, motivate and teach others that anything is possible. A former teacher in the Dallas public school system, she started her business as a motivational trainer even while writing her memoirs, which eventually became a self-published, self-improvement guide for women titled, Will The Real Women…Please Stand Up! Peddling the underground bestseller from the back of her car, she sold over 76,000 copies — grabbing the attention of publishing powerhouse Simon Schuster who signed her to a six-figure, three-book deal.
Ella was happy with her success, but wanted to empower a larger audience; one that extended beyond her loyal following.
To complement a publisher-supported, grassroots publicity book tour, a strategic national media tour and a speaker circuit program were implemented to allow her direct access to new followers, while continuing to embrace existing ones.
Within 12 months, Ella was an established speaker on the lecture circuit. She spoke regularly at seminars, book signings, and conventions across the country; appeared on national television shows such as VIBE, Leeza, Home & Family, The Montel Williams Show and Caryl & Marilyn; was featured in and contributed to Black Elegance, Essence, McCall-s, Success Magazine, EbonyMan, and Jet; and was featured in several national and local newspapers including The New York Times and The Dallas Morning News.
